SystemPal App Reviews

Very Good App

This app may not seem like much at first glance, but it is a little treasure. It does exactly what it claims to be able to do and does it superbly. I find it invaluable for keeping an eye on system data, particularly cpu load and temperature. I also like the fact that it lives inside your menubar because it makes so much easier to access quickly. The developer has had this app in the store for a while now and he/she is constantly maintaining/updating it. I consider system pal to be one of my must-have apps.

Simple tool that works

Needed to keep an eye on my CPU temp running system-heavy apps. Also wanted a way to see my network traffic that didn’t take up a lot of space or was a widget. This does the trick. Nothing fancy, just works!

Excellent little utility

Very handy to easily keep a check on system resources like memory and CPU usage. Temperature and fan speed are handy too.

Nice App, Great support:

I like the app. Quick over view. Dialog will sometimes come up when I dont mean to activate it, but other than that I have had few probelms with it. I had one problem with the app, wrote to uspport. Immediately got a reply solving the problem.

Excellent Customer Service

Installed this great looking app on my 2012 Macbook Pro and the temperature gauge and fan speed didnt quite work. I stuck around and emailed the developer to see if we could get it working. Within a few weeks the developer had released a new version and had emailed me personally to remind me to update. It works beautifully now. Thanks guys!

Great App! Developer Support!

Temperature was not being measured on my new MacBook Pro mid-2012, but still kept the app installed because of the other great features. Contacted the developer regarding the temperature reading issue. Just received an email that the app was updated with a fix and I immediately installed it. Now the app is perfect! Thank you to the developer for supporting your customers.

good stuff

the app is simple to use, simple to see, and isnt obstructive. you can choose to have it pop up with a mouseover or without and play music right from it for convenience.

perfect little status app

Works great, very handy, no issues

Does Exactly What I Want

This app is a great, lightweight system monitor that does everything I want it to. At a glance, you can easily see your RAM usage, CPU usage, CPU temp, and network performance. If you want more detail, it has a comprehensive expanded view. One minor annoyance was having the app expand itself everytime I accidentally ran my mouse over the icons in the tray. After reading the preferences, you can uncheck the options to expand when you mouse-over, requiring you to click on the icons to expand the detailed view. After that, it behaves exactly as I want and would expect.

One of my must have toolbar apps!

SystemPal quickly became one of those trusted, must-have, go to apps. I do a lot of heavy lifting with my 15" MBP and I depend on SystemPal to help me manage my system resources. It has been a great tool to have. The interface is clean and intuitive and the app offers plenty of customization options.

App not supported

I installed the app but am not able to adjust the fan speed settings. The support link is broken = NO SUPPORT. MacMini 2011 Mountain Lion

They are AWOL

I just purchased the app. Their website is down and an email to their support just bounced back. Keep your money. The icon in the menu bar is cut off and only shows half of the temperature and half of the fan speed-which isnt adjustable by the way.

This app comes SO close to being truly great

This app does exactly what it states it does. My only complaint is the info window that pops up when moused over. As others have said, this should be activated by a click rather than any time the pointer contacts that area of the menu bar. The annoyance became so great that I deactivated the app & wont use it again until this feature has been fixed.

Superb

I tried several apps for the same function and this one was the best among the rest! But I think it needs a facelift! It looks old despite its smooth functionality!

Love it

Use it all the time. Should be provided natively

Does just what I wanted

It shows me very well how much cpu, ram, and what my fans and heat is at at all times. And if this wasn’t enough it evens cleans memory space if I need it. A great app and would recommend to anyone.

Simple, solid, useful

Key system stats at a glance with a nice UI. Good customization options.

Amazing! You can’t live without

The app does what it is supposed to do, it does it well and the fact that you can see ALL your information on one screen is a huge time saving if, like me, you were spending 5 min reading your activity monitor. My MacBook Pro was a 8Go RAM and sonetime could barrely execute some basic tasks at the end of the day, this app gives it a fresh “kick in the b***”. I recently put 16RAM inside my Mac, even if Apple tells you the max is 8…. even with that, I still love get my fresh memory available! I’m not a Final Cut Pro user but I can tell you that when you see your Mac having some trouble looking at a file, app, etc… a little RAM clean and you will see things speed up!. The settings are very customizable! I’m sure the app will also grow and get new feature, but I’m all good with this version for now! (I’m also not using the toolkit at all, so I dont know about those guys!).

Works great. Allways on. :)

Works great. Allways on. That’s it. And it’s a lot. A five star lot :)

Great app, useful information

I’m using SystemPal on a 15” 2013 rMBP. It’s very convenient to have RAM and CPU info at a glance without having to open the Activity Monitor. And for me the temperature info is very important. I saw some complaints in other reviews about the info box popping up when you scroll over it. Under Preferences, there are two options under ‘Show popover if mouse enters’. Uncheck both, and it will only come up when you click on the info area on the menu bar (not if you hover over it or pass by it with your mouse). I used to use Temperature Monitor on a 2010 MBP, unfortunately that program isn’t compatible with the 2013 MBPs. One thing I would love to see in this app is more temperature information from all the sensors, not just one CPU sensor. Thanks to the developer for a helpful app with a nice UI. Oh yeah, and the screen shot tool is quite useful too, much more convenient than opening Grab.
